How Do I FTP My Pages Answer: Once the web space has been set up and you have
created your html pages, remember to save your first page as index.html
(All Lowercase)
When you are ready to upload to the server get on line (dial up)
and open the FTP client (e.g. WS_FTP, CuteFTP, etc). When it opens you
will see 2 dialog boxes. Follow the instructions below for the
settings.
FTP Client Settings
1. Profile Name: You can call the program whatever you deem appropriate.
2. Host Name: This will be in the form of http://www.mydomain.co.za (without the http://)
3. Host Type: Automatic Detect
4. User ID: Your user ID (as provided by MegaWeb)
5. Password: Your Password (as provided by MegaWeb)
6. Account: Leave Blank.
Under Initial Directories
1. Local PC: The directory where your files are stored on your PC.
2. Remote PC: The remote folder depends on the platform, if its on
Linux then the remote folder will be ‘/website' , if it's on Windows®®, you can leave this blank.
Uploading
Now you are ready to copy the files across to the server.
Highlight the file/s to be copied to the server.
With the upload command in the FTP Client you are using, copy the files
across to the server. When this is done load your browser and call up
the page to see that everything was uploaded
